Summer Weddings

Hey fashionistas, the summer is not only for the beach and vacation but it’s also wedding season!!! Admit it ladies the most important part of the wedding is our dress, and it can be costly. For those of you who never considered looking at Davids Bridal for a wedding dress perhaps should take a second look. Davids Bridal now carries Vera Wang wedding dresses, yes I said it VERA WANG!!!  “Color, fabrics, textures, architecture, femininity–all are blended together in unexpected ways in every one of my designs,” the designer said in a statement about the line. “I want to bring freedom to weddings. There are no rules for me.” Vera also has a lack of size restriction you can purchase a wedding dress from size 0 to 14, with plans of her going up to a size 26 in the Fall. Gowns are priced from $600-$1400(which is great compared to her dresses that start in the 1000’s). The gowns are available at all 150 David Bridal stores nationwide and online at  www.davidsbridal.com.

Fashion Trends 2011

Hey Fashionistas, just as 50’s and 60’s style clothing are back in style it seems as though the 70’s are trending as well. Bohemian styled clothing with a sleek and sexy style have become a major hit within the fashion community. The key to wearing 70’s styled clothing  is by mixing the boho look to a more sophisticated one. What do you think of this trend?

Also in style for the summer is the biker look. Fashion can sometimes evolve or just fall to the waste side and become a standard. In order to pull off new looks you   have to combine new with the old to make something innovative. This biker chic influenced look definitely belongs on the runway and is a great look for 2011. What do you think of this trend?

2011 has taken on a very unique and modernist appearance especially when it comes to hairstyles. Here are some pictures of  colors and styles that are in this year. What do you think?

Belt purses have become a major fashion accessory for 2011. Women are no longer wearing an ordinary clutch and now take on belt purses as an alternative. It is a very casual and daytime statement  that’s gone from the catwalks to the streets. What do you think of this trend?

Lastly, one of the most important trends you can pick for 2011 is your swimwear. Swim Suites can be very hard to reinvent. So for the most part they follow the same trend as the clothes for that year. In 2010 the style for swimwear were inspired by one shoulder pieces, high end sportswear, and cutaway clothing. However, for this year the style for swimwear is inspired by vintage looks and Swim Suites have never looked more elegant! What do you think of this trend?

From The Hills to Fashion

Hey fashionistas, the beautiful Lauren Conrad is working on her second collection for paper crown!

We all know Lauren as the soft spoken girl on the show Laguna Beach and the Hills, but Lauren has done very well in making a name for herself in the fashion world. You can find Lauren on the cover of Lucky’s July issue wearing a completed look from her new line. Lauren told the magazine that she was happy that her reality TV show was no longer airing. “It’s easier to launch the line without MTV,” she says. “A lot of people in fashion don’t want to be linked with anything that has to do with reality TV.

Lauren’s line is very feminine and elegant she explains, “We added a lot of texture and pretty details with velvets, laces, crinkle chiffon, petersham ribbons, custom gold buttons, etc.,–the lace pieces and rich floral print are really elegant and feminine, while the mini dresses and skirts are more flirty and youthful.”

Her first line was very successful so I am excited to see what she has up her sleeve for her second collection. Below you can find some sneek peaks of whats in store!!!
